If you’re like most binge watchers, the answer quite often is 鈥測es.”
Netflix spent nine months analyzing the viewing habits of more than 100 serialized TV series across more than 190 countries and concludes that the average completion time to watch one full season is just five days.
The average time binge watchers spend per day watching those episodes is two hours and 10 minutes.
The typical Netflix binge viewer finishes an entire season in one week.
The study shows thrillers and horror-themed shows rate highest on the binge watching scale and include shows such as 鈥淭he Walking Dead,鈥� 鈥淎merican Horror Story,鈥� 鈥淭he Fall,鈥� 鈥淏ates Motel,鈥� 鈥淏reaking Bad,鈥� 鈥凄别虫迟别谤鈥� and 鈥淪ons of Anarchy.鈥�
On the other end are series that Netflix says viewers tend to “savor” more than “devour,” though the binge rate still ranks high. Complex plotlines like the ones in 鈥淗ouse of Cards鈥� and 鈥淏濒辞辞诲濒颈苍别鈥� tend to wear a binger out more quickly per binge session.
Crime dramas and dramatic comedies fall somewhere in the middle of the binge scale.
