Heat, humidity, gusty breezes, and rain and storm chances are all in the forecast Thursday, which is why we are on a Weather Alert for the day.聽Near record high temperatures are possible with southwest winds gusting to 30 mph. The Storm Prediction Center currently has the DMV in the Level 2 out of 5 ‘Slight’ risk category, so storms could contain damaging wind gusts. At this point, plan for a chance of rain at any point throughout the day.聽If rain occurs in the morning, that may limit our severe weather threat during the second half of the day.聽There isn’t a lot of moisture with this weather maker, so the bigger story of the day will be the heat and humidity.
