Kings Dominion to add kid-friendly rides

WASHINGTON — Kings Dominion says it is expanding its Planet Snoopy area for the 2017 season, adding three new rides, a new event space and upgraded food and beverage locations.

Kings Dominion says it is already the largest Peanuts-themed children鈥檚 park in the nation.

New rides include the Kite-Eating Tree, Sally’s Sea Plane and a racetrack ride called the Peanuts 500.

The expansion will bring the number of rides in the 14-acre Planet Snoopy area to 20.

Kings Dominion is also offering a Pre-K Pass for 2017 that gives free admission to children ages three to five.

The park started the 2016 season with a new ride called Delirium, a spinning pendulum which takes riders 115 feet in the air.

Kings Dominion has about 60 rides and attractions. The park is owned by Ohio-based Cedar Fair Entertainment, whose other parks include Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio, and Knott’s Berry Farm, in Buena Park, California.
