From ‘Jaws’ to ‘Star Wars,’ Wolf Trap salutes movie music of John Williams

Introduction John Williams is a legend of movie music, with 49 Oscar nominations. This Saturday, Wolf Trap is hosting a tribute聽with聽Emil de Cou conducting the National Symphony Orchestra. “You can just hear the music, and you not only remember the film, but you feel how you felt when you saw the film for the first time,” De Cou tells 91欧美激情. “Everybody knows all of this music so well that you can just whistle it from start to end. … When you see a movie that really grabs you, it becomes personal聽…聽it becomes something that you keep in your imagination and keep there, and keep in your heart.” Listen below for the full interview, then click through the gallery for Saturday’s entire playlist, including Emil’s take on each selected piece.
