On Saturday, Georgetown Pike in Great Falls, Virginia, reopened to traffic after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole during the early morning.
Until around 7 p.m. Saturday, VA-193/Georgetown Pike remained closed in both directions betweenÌýWalker Road/Great FallsÌýandÌýOld Dominion Drive, while crews repaired the pole.
Fairfax County police said this morning’s crash occurred near the intersection of Leigh Mill Road and Georgetown Pike. The crash and the subsequent road closures were first reported by 91Å·ÃÀ¼¤Çé Traffic around 5:30 a.m.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK. The identity of the driver and cause for the crash have not been released.
Officers are on scene of a single-car crash into a pole at Georgetown Pike & Leigh Mill Rd. Driver taken to the hospital w/non-life-threatening inj. Georgetown Pike is closed between Walker Rd & Olde Georgetown Ct while crews repair the pole. Please use an alternate route.
