3 teens charged in Columbia crime spree

WASHINGTON — Three Baltimore-area teenagers have been charged with perpetrating a three-day crime spree in Columbia, Maryland, the Howard County police announced Friday morning.

Three boys, ages 11, 14 and 15, are facing various charges related to a series of crimes, including shoplifting at a Verizon store and stealing a golf cart from a parking lot at the Columbia Mall on June 16.

One or more of the boys are also accused of assaulting an employee at the Howard County Central Library, as well as attempting to forcefully enter an apartment lobby in the 5400 block of Lynx Lane.

The Howard County police said in a news release Friday morning that the boys are facing charges聽including assault, robbery, reckless endangerment, burglary, motor vehicle theft and theft.
