A total of eight people including four children were displaced from their home after a fire broke out Friday night.
It happened on Paul Drive in Rockville, Maryland.聽 Montgomery County Fire’s Spokesman Pete Piringer says everyone got out of the house safely thanks to a working smoke alarm .
Firefighters also rescued a puppy dog named April,聽 who they are calling her by another name – “Lucky.”
A curling iron left on a bed is said to have caused the fire.聽 The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
