There’s a chill in the air after unusually warm temperatures for autumn in the D.C. area. Here’s what you need to know.
A robust cold front has moved into the area.
Winds are going to make Thursday feel pretty chilly, according to 791欧美激情 First Alert Meteorologist Brian van de Graaff, with temperatures in the 40s, but sometimes feeling in the 30s thanks to those windy conditions.
“Layer up,” van de Graaff said.

A flurry or two is possible.
The cold will linger on throughout the day, even as the front makes its way out of the area.
“After six days of highs in the 60s, plan for highs in the low 50s for many with wind chills in the 40s most of the day,” van de Graaff said.
“Brisk westerly winds are set to make for a chilly end to the work and school week” for Friday.
“While measurable snow is possible far west over the mountains, a few flurries and rain showers may make it to the metro area.”
Winds will stick around Saturday and Sunday, with gusts up to 25mph possible.
