Earl Sweatshirt returns with self-assessing new album

WASHINGTON — Back in 2010, the Odd Future crew made waves with its offbeat humor and rhymes. Some critics likened them to a modern day Wu-Tang Clan: They didn’t care what people thought of them, yet you couldn’t deny their talent. Like the Wu, the members of Odd Future can flat-out rap.

Yet with all that talent, the crew really comes down to two guys: Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Tyler is the leader, the guy who put the whole thing together. Earl is perhaps the group’s best lyricist, his dark flows connect well with despondent teenagers.

On March 23, Earl released a new album, “I Don’t Like S**t, I Don’t Go Outside” as a lo-fi bedroom recording of self-assessing thoughts. Music critic Marcus J. Moore discussed the album with 91欧美激情 anchors Hillary Howard and Shawn Anderson.
