Va. man pleads guilty to brazen contracts corruption

WASHINGTON – A local man pleaded guilty to bribing federal officials to get government contracts in a scam that involved millions of dollars and went on for several years.

Larry Corbett owned two construction firms in Northern Virginia. He paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a program manager at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, , in exchange for help getting tens of millions in government contracts.

Khan admitted receiving roughly $30 millions in bribes from multiple contractors.

Corbett faces 15 years in prison. He is the 11th person to plead guilty in a conspiracy prosecutors called one of the most brazen corruption schemes in the history of the federal government.
