Study links fast food and childhood asthma

WASHINGTON – New research says drive-thru eats are connected to asthma in kids.

out of New Zealand showed that eating fast food more than three times a week was connected to a higher rate of asthma in children and teens.

Eating fruits and vegetables at least three times a week was connected to lower asthma rates.

Dr. Todd Mahr of the American Academy of Pediatrics tells MSN parents shouldn’t think their child will develop asthma if the child eats fast food three times a week.

Instead, he says the research should get parents to think more about the possible effects of diet on a child’s respiratory health.
