WASHINGTON – The death of Joshua Davis has rocked a Chevy Chase neighborhood.

Davis, 15, was on Monday, when a tree fell on him near Rock Creek Trail. Friday night, the community remembered him during a candlelight vigil.

Family and friends gathered in the grassy area in front of the trail’s entrance.

“He really just wanted to be there for me,” Corrina, his sister, said, fighting back tears. “He was just a caring brother and not an annoying one.”

Alki Halkiotis, a friend of Davis, said that Davis always made her happy.

“(He was) just an amazing kid, and I love him,” said Halkiotis.

He was remembered for being passionate, happy and hopeful, with dreams of joining the U.S. Air Force.
