Lululemon co-founder blames pant problems on women’s bodies

WASHINGTON – Lululemon’s yoga pants just can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight.

In March of this year, the Canadian athletic clothing company had to pull its popular black yoga pants — which cost around $100 — from the shelves after about the material being too sheer.

New pants have since replaced the old ones, but about the pants still being too sheer. Customer complaints also include pilling in the thigh area and ripping seams.

But when asked about the quality of the pants on Bloomberg TV’s “Street Smart,” Lululemon co-founder Chip Wilson said the problem may have less to do with the quality of the company’s materials, and more to do with women’s bodies.

“Quite frankly, some women’s bodies just don’t work for it,” Wilson said while discussing the company’s pants. “They don’t work for some women’s bodies
