BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore Ravens’ fans are removing Ray Rice from their NFL gear.
On Friday, hundreds of people — carrying number 27 Rice jerseys — lined up early at M&T Bank Stadium to exchange them for the jerseys of other players.
Rice has been cut from the team and suspended indefinitely by the NFL because of domestic violence charges.
The jersey exchange continues Saturday, Sept. 20th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To qualify for the exchange, your jersey must be:
- Officially NFL licensed
- Made by Nike or Reebok
- Purchased at the Ravens’ Team Store, either at the stadium or online.
Only one jersey exchange is allowed per person.
The NFL Players Association will appeal Rice’s indefinite suspension, claiming he’s the victim of double jeopardy.
Initially, Rice was suspended for two games after surveillance video showed him pulling his unconscious girlfriend’s body out of an elevator. Rice later received the indefinite suspension after TMZ released video showing him punch his then-girlfriend, now-wife Janay Palmer.
