The Wayne, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 16 cents per share.
The specialty pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $1.6 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.4 million.
Aclaris shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than quadrupled in the last 12 months.
