On a per-share basis, the Livonia, Michigan-based company said it had a loss of 25 cents.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 26 cents per share.
The company posted revenue of $475.5 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $485.4 million.
Alta Equipment shares have risen 60% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased slightly in the last 12 months.
