The Akron, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 71 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 61 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 59 cents per share.
The tire maker posted revenue of $4.25 billion in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.23 billion.
