WASHINGTON — Ford is issuing two safety recalls affecting some of its cars, trucks and crossovers.
About 8,000聽2017 Super Duty聽trucks are being recalled over concerns the fuel tank could come loose because of a missing fuel tank strap reinforcement. Ford says that over time, the fuel tank could move out of position and potentially hit the ground, raising the risk of a fuel leak and a fire.
Separately, about 1,300 Ford cars and crossovers with Ecoboost V6 engines could have an issue that results in oil leaking on the turbocharger, increasing the risk of a fire. That recall affects certain 2016 Ford Taurus sedans, 2016 and 2017 Ford Flex crossovers and 2016 and 2017 Lincoln MKT crossovers.
In both cases, Ford says dealers will inspect affected vehicles and repair them as necessary.
