PSA sheds light on cyberbullying of women sports journalists (Video)

WASHINGTON 鈥 A new public service announcement is shedding light on cyberbullying directed at women sports journalists.

In the announcement, men read comments made about sports reporters Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro as they sit in the room. Some of the comments are so hateful, the men struggle to say them out loud.

The message, which comes from , aims to make sports fans aware of the hatred women sports journalists face online.

鈥淚n reading the statements out loud to women journalists, guys are forced to experience, sometimes for the first time, the shocking online harassment happening to women in sports day in, day out,鈥 Just Not Sports wrote in a blog post about the announcement. 鈥淚t serves as proof most sports fans would NEVER say these things to another person 鈥 so we shouldn鈥檛 type this garbage, either.鈥
