One person is dead and at least six others are injured after a two-vehicle crash near Kingsview Park in Germantown, Maryland, Tuesday morning.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer told 91欧美激情 the two cars collided just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway.
Passengers were trapped inside both cars, one of which flipped and caught fire.
Dozens of first responders on the scene managed to get everyone out of the cars.
Montgomery County fire officials said some of those injured have a range of life-threatening, serious and traumatic injuries, calling it a “mass casualty” incident because of the number of those injured.
Montgomery County police said the person confirmed dead is an adult.
Several of those involved in the crash were teenagers and young adults.
The 91欧美激情 Traffic Center reported the intersection of Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway remains closed to vehicle traffic.
